WHY BUY FROM FAERIETAIL DEVON REX CATTERY?

WHAT ARE OUR QUALIFICATIONS AS A PET SALES ESTABLISHMENT?

We started small, with Cleomar EmAlia of Faerietail. I started
the Veterinary Technology Program at Pierce College at the same time.
Emma gave us a litter of four kittens in my first year of school, and
during my second year, went to Georgia for a breeding. Thank goodness
I was preoccupied with schooling, she was gone for 9 months!

Once I graduated (with honors,) I began planning my barn/cattery.
I’m sure the scope of the plan scared my family! The cats have a
four-room apartment out there, with heat, water, small kitchenette and
isolation ward. We have grown since then, adding some outcrosses and
deciding to focus on a certain color. Now I have my silver classic
tabby male, as well as two black smoke boys to work with toward the
silver classic tabbies.

SPECIALIZING IN THE  DEVON REX BREEDS

The typical Devon is active, mischievous, playful, and very people-oriented. They have been described as a cross between a cat, a dog and a monkey. They are high-jumpers and will try to occupy any space large enough to admit them. With this trait, they are often found in odd nooks and crannies of a closet, shelf, or laundry basket. They are relatively easy to take care of. Most Devons also have one central person to whom they devote their love, and on whom they will most often lie and rub. They like to playfully nip, and love to play throughout their lives.

Their uncommonly large, slightly rounded ears are set low on the sides of their wide heads, their eyes are large, and their noses are slightly upturned. Unlike most cats, their whiskers are very short and often curled to such an extent that it may appear as if they have no whiskers. Their body type is distinctly lightly built. Their long, sturdy legs are well suited for long leaps, and their toes are unusually large.
HAPPY AND HEALTHY CATS AND KITTENS
We strive to have healthy and happy cats and kittens that are well socailized and will  transition easily to their new homes and families. We do genetic testing through Veterinary Genetics Laboratory to ensure that we have the healthiest cats in our cattery that we can.

All of our babies start getting their vaccines and full health checks at 8 weeks of age. They will continue to be vet checked and receive vaccines every 3-4 weeks. Kittens are altered prior to leaving our home. This is typically done at 12-15 weeks of age depending on their size but could be up to 16-20 weeks. We find it best to wait until they are at least 2 lbs. before they are altered.

We feel it is our job to prepare our cats/kittens for their new homes. Your new cat/kitten will be up to date on vaccines, spayed/neutered and you will receive TICA registration papers at no additional cost. We take pride in our breeding cats and their pedigrees, we do not discount our kittens by selling them without proper registration. We provide a 1 year health guarantee/health contract against congenital and genetic diseases.

A FUREVER FRIEND
We want to find the best fit for your family possible. We communicate and send pictures and videos weekly to potential and future families. We are happy to chat anytime as well. Unfortunately with this day and age and the sensitive immune systems of our kittens, they are extremely vulnerable to airborne diseases and their mothers stress, we do not allow outside visitors. When you are asking to visit our cattery or come and pick out your kitten you are asking to visit our home, where we live with our family and children as well. We don’t feel comfortable having stranger in our home.

We understand the excitement and anticipation in finding your furever family member but ask that you understand why we don’t allow visitors to our home and limit visitors to those that are coming to pick up their kitten. That doesn’t mean we have anything to hide, it means we take the utmost precautions for our family and our cats and kittens sake.
